RAVENFALL Early Prototype

A Gold Box-inspired dungeon crawler set in a grim Norse world.

You are a band of hired blades. The king's coffers are nearly empty, his villages burn, and something is breeding in the old temple beneath the ravens' isle. He offered you your weight in gold. You said yes.

An early, playable slice of the core loop:

• First-person, grid-based dungeon exploration, one step, one square, 90° turns, the way the old gods intended
  
  
  
  
• Random encounters that pull you into turn-based tactical combat on a top-down grid
• Combat built on classic old-school rules (OSE SRD): attack rolls, armor class, initiative dice you can actually watch roll
  
  
  
  
• XP and level-ups after every fight even the ones you lose

What this prototype is not (yet)

• No save system, sessions are meant to be short.
• Placeholder visuals.
• No story content

Why this exists?!

Ravenfall is a solo project chasing a specific feeling: the crunch of Pool of Radiance, the oppressive dark of Black Crypt, and modern quality-of-life (hit chances on hover, no manual required to survive). Systems are built data-driven in Godot 4 so the world can grow this demo exists to prove the loop is fun before anything gets pretty.
